Allied Membership Council Takes Shape

Following a large amount of interest on behalf of Allied Members to create their own committee within IHLA, the first steering group for the Allied Member Council is set to hold its first meetings.

The Allied Member Council Steering Group will meet to discuss its mission, needs and general plan for meeting.  The hope of this council will be to help IHLA to further its relationship with its Allied Members and create an avenue that will allow IHLA to communicate its needs to Allied Members as well as gauge the needs of Allieds.

GUEST SERVICES/CONCIERGE GROUP LAUNCHES

Due to a strong interest from several Guest Services professionals in the Greater Indianapolis area, a new Guest Services/Concierge group launched in July.  Completely volunteer led, this group sponsored by GIHLA, seeks to create a networking and educational resource for Guest Services professionals in the Greater Indianapolis area.  It seeks to help educate about upcoming city events, tourist attractions and the many offerings Indianapolis has to offer, so that they may continue to be a knowledgeable resource for guests visiting Indy.

2008 FEDERAL PER DIEM RATES ANNOUNCED

(Washington, DC, August 6, 2007) - The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced the Fiscal Year 2008 federal per diem rates, which will take effect on October 1, 2007 and run through September 30, 2008.

The standard Continental U.S. (CONUS) per diem rate for lodging, which applies to destinations that are not specifically listed on the 2008 per diem rate schedule, has been increased this year.  The Fiscal Year 2008 federal per diem rates can be viewed on the web at the GSA's Website at http://www.gsa.gov/perdiem.GSA reviews the CONUS rate every three years.

GSA continues to use market data provided by Smith Travel Research to establish per diem rates.
